Moroccos hidden travel gem. The three ranges of the Atlas Mountains create a striking sometimes harsh barrier between the arid Sahara and Moroccos milder coastal climate. As for the Moroccan mountains in the northern part of the country they are part of two different mountain ranges. The Tizi nTichka pass which was reached via this route was one of the few routes across the Atlas Mountains crossing between Marrakech and the Draa Valley on the edge of the Sahara.
